South Main Design is a full-service interior design firm based in Allentown, NJ led by Jenna Reading and Amanda Downs. We specialize in residential full-home construction and renovations, and take pride in creating beautiful and unique spaces that reflect our clients’ personalities, experiences and needs.
What started as a partnership built on a love of design, passion for creativity, and the satisfaction of pleasing clients, South Main Design is now thriving on making every project as unique and individual as our clients, all while maximizing style and function. We pull from our creative and organizational strengths to offer carefully thought-out and individually-tailored design services. No two project are the same! Partnering with talented architects and builders allows our vision to seamlessly come to life. The journey of renovating or building a new construction home is not an easy task, but by assembling the perfect team, the end result will be nothing short of magical! We have designed gorgeous new construction homes and spearheaded renovations throughout Central and Northern New Jersey, along the beautiful Jersey Shore, and across Bucks County and Philadelphia, PA. These projects have included both primary family homes and gorgeous second homes that provide the perfect vacation destinations.
JENNA READING
Jenna has long been influenced by architecture and design, and has a passion for traditional and timeless styles. The daughter of a construction expert, many childhood dinnertime conversations revolved around the excitement of new construction and proper building codes. Following 10 years in marketing and teaching, it was a design course at a local college that reignited childhood passions. After freelancing design work for friends and family, the stars aligned in 2017 to set the dream of owning a design studio into motion. Jenna and Amanda teamed up and South Main Design was born. Over the past few years, SMD has grown from primarily interior styling services, to specializing in new construction and full home renovations. Jenna lives in Allentown, NJ with her husband, Drew, and three children. When Jenna isn't renovating her Historical Victorian Home or designing for clients, you can find her cheering on her girls from the sidelines of the soccer field, or diving into an outdoor adventure with the kids.

AMANDA DOWNS
Amanda is drawn to clean and classic designs and is a firm believer that a well-designed space not only looks beautiful but also functions perfectly to meet a family's needs. Amanda has been a fan of interior design for as long as she can remember, often painting and redecorating her own bedroom as a child. After a nearly 20 year career in corporate finance and countless home renovations and redecorations later, she decided to follow her childhood dreams of creating beautiful spaces for others by joining Jenna to create South Main Design. Amanda's drive and attention to detail help to bring the design duo's visions to life and allow them to create beautiful, carefully thought-out and approachable spaces for their clients. Amanda lives in Allentown, NJ with her husband, Brad, and two sons. Her favorite way to spend her free time is watching her sons at their various sporting events and spending time at their family home on the Chesapeake Bay.
